Gemiler - tie the ship up to the ruins of an ancient city and visit the Byzantine remains on the island. A climb to the top of the island will give you a spectactular view. Very little is known about the inhabitants of this ancient trading city but is rumoured to have been ruled by an albino queen, the covered walkways that were said to be made to protect the queen from the sun. There are also the ruins with mosaic floors of several christian churches. Nearby is the enclosed lagoon of Olu Deniz, meaning dead or enclosed sea, a strip of white sand separates it from the swells of the Med and cliffs rise to 1,000 metres from its crystal clear waters. There are numerous restaurants of all types around the shores of the lagoon.
