Kas is a small picturesque town, first mentioned in Lycian times as Antiphellos. Apart from overcrowded tourist places it still has its typical scenery. There you can find small white houses with wooden balconies and traditional market on Fridays. The harbour town of Kas is located on the coast which extends from Antalya to Fethiye and it is one of the most stylish ports along the coast. The cuisine has a lot to offer, especially the appetizers. In the town itself are tea gardens under palm trees, restaurants with local specialties, as well as bars and discotheques. Traces of ancient civilizations still remain, for example the Hellenic amphitheater, tombs, sarcophagus and ruins of ancient city walls. The lycian tombs are floodlit at night.
