Las Palmas is the capital of the province which includes Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. It is the largest city in the Canary Islands. Driving into the city you get a feel of being in a large metropolis. Its long boulevards stretches northwards some 2 miles from the historical districts of Vegueta & Triana District to Santa Catalina and Puerto de la Luz. As well as being an important port and commercial center Las Palmas has much to offer to the tourists. Attractions include the Gothic-neo-classical cathedral of Santa Ana; the Columbus House; the golden Las Canteras beach etc. There are many museums, art and cultural centers.
